I believe a drawing should be precise —clear enough to build from, restrainedenough to let the discipline and thedetail lead.
I'm Somakahle Mdunyelwa, a draughtsman. My work covers building, electrical, structural, piping, civil, pictorial, general and CAD draughting — with mechanical draughting too — each drawing produced to a standard that's ready for submission, fabrication and site.
I trained at the Academy of Advanced Technology in Cresta, Gauteng, and today carry each project from the first line to the final detail under one hand. I work precisely and deliberately, favouring clear layers, accurate proportion and drawings that answer to the way a structure is actually built.
Philosophy
Drawings are not instructions — they arearguments for a way of living. Every lineI put down is a decision about light,proportion and the rituals of the everyday,made to last well beyond the drawing board.
